About

Mission Statement

The establishment of the Visualization and Interface Design Innovation (ViDi) research group represents a new thinking on how to respond to the growing demand for stable and versatile visualization technologies. Building on our prior research in high-performance computing, expressive rendering, and interactive visualization, we aim at creating new visualization capabilities that make visible, at unprecedented clarity, the previously unseen. We study how to employ visual abstraction, perceptually based techniques, animations, and intelligent systems to design and implement new visualization processes and interaction techniques that better accommodate our intended users.
